Balaji Digital Library – Rules & Regulations

To maintain a peaceful, disciplined, and productive study environment, all members are requested to follow these rules:

# 1. Membership & Entry

1. Library entry is allowed only to registered members.
2. Members must carry their valid library ID/membership card.
3. Membership cards are non-transferable.
4. Members must provide correct personal information during registration.
5. Library management may suspend membership for serious or repeated violations.

# 2. Seat & Study Rules

1. One member should use one allotted seat only.
2. Seats should not be occupied or reserved for friends or other members.
3. Do not leave books, bags, notebooks, or other belongings to reserve a seat.
4. Maintain proper discipline and avoid disturbing other students.
5. Members should use the study space responsibly.

# 3. Silence & Mobile Phones

1. Strict silence must be maintained inside the library.
2. Mobile phones must be kept on silent/vibrate mode.
3. Phone calls should be taken outside the reading area.
4. Loud conversations, discussions, or any activity disturbing other students are not permitted. Similar silence and phone restrictions are standard in institutional library rules.

# 4. Cleanliness

1. Keep your seat and surrounding area clean.
2. Food, chewing gum, tobacco, paan, and smoking are not allowed inside the library.
3. Dispose of waste only in designated dustbins.
4. Do not damage tables, chairs, electrical fittings, or other library property.

# 5. Personal Belongings

1. Members are responsible for their own mobile phones, laptops, wallets, documents, and other valuables.
2. Do not leave valuable items unattended.
3. The library will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings.

# 6. Discipline & Behaviour

1. Respect library staff and fellow members.
2. Abusive language, arguments, fighting, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour is strictly prohibited.
3. Members should not disturb or confront other students.
4. Any complaint or issue should be reported to the library management.

# 7. Digital Facilities

1. Library computers, Wi-Fi, charging points, and other facilities should be used responsibly.
2. Do not use library facilities for activities that disturb other members.
3. Do not attempt to damage, modify, or misuse library equipment.

# 8. Damage & Responsibility

1. Any intentional damage to library property may result in a penalty.
2. Members may be required to compensate for damage caused by them.
3. Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent cancellation of membership.

# 9. Membership Cancellation

Management reserves the right to suspend or cancel membership in cases of serious misconduct, repeated rule violations, non-payment of applicable dues, or misuse of library facilities.

# 10. Management Rights

Library management may update these rules from time to time to maintain discipline, safety, cleanliness, and a suitable study environment.
